What benefits us, benefits the whole world
This ceremony is about reclaiming your Light; how can we cultivate joy and wellbeing in our Self, not solely for our own benefit, but for what it seeds out into the world.
It's like that song I learnt as a kid...
This little light of mine, I'm gonna let it shine
Except I didn't. Somewhere, back in the recesses of my pre-verbal years, my body stored a memory that encoded as 'it's not safe/ok to be seen'.
This wasn't unique to me either. Our play-small kiwi culture never chinked my world view. I observed in the world I lived; to Shine is wrong. Tall poppies get cut down. Don't be a show-off!
Life didn't challenge that belief until... well... until I was ready to be challenge.
A combination of aptitude, devotion, and a caring community emerged in my 30s around kirtan. I was starting out singing kirtans and loving it so much that I took on more and more responsibilities. Soon... I was being seen.
To shorten this decade+ long devotion to the most succinct point; my nervous system was recalibrating to the light. To being seen.
I think there is a rule that applies here. Life has a way of living fully, and one day we will notice that to continue to diminish and dampen our light takes more energy that it does to shine.
So whether that readiness is here or yet to spring forth, this ceremony will unknot the energetic binds that tell us to play small, to hide, to shut up.
Our ceremony celebrates our self effulgence, the luminosity that exists within us, contingent on no deed or action, and allowing it to radiate out.
We call forth one of the oldest mantras in the vedic tradition, Gayatri mantra, honouring the light within the cosmos, and within all of us.
Om Bhur Bhuvaḥ Suvaha
Tat-savitur Vareñyaṃ
Bhargo Devasya Dheemahi
Dhiyo Yonaḥ Prachodayāt
The Power of Ritual: Amplifying Intentions with Cacao, Fire, Mantra, and Meditation
Using the heart opening technologies of Cacao, Mantra, Fire Havan & Kirtan to clarify our intention and bring it forth into the world
In these power-filled ceremonies, we create space to get clear on our personal and collective intention; and then we amplify this by opening our heart with the aid of the cacao elixir, purifying our mind with the fire havan and sacred mantra, and shifting into heart-mind coherence using the practice of kirtan and meditation. It's quite the formula!
We offer invocations to welcome, or call upon that particular aspect of divinity within our Self and within the cosmos. As above, so below; what is within the whole is within us also.
